NUESTRA HISTORIA
Hello my name is Irma Rodriguez! As long as I can remember I have been painting and creating alebrijes. When I was a little girl in Oaxaca, México I would go on long trips with my family to sell alebrijes in the market. I grew up with a sincere love and passion for the colors, design and beauty of the alebrije watching my parents and extended family create their own beautiful works of art. Since coming to the US my passion has grown as I launched my business Alebrijes Rodriguez full time to heal from the depression of working at a job that did not satisfy my creative spirit. I am now a proud mother of two children who I have the joy of teaching the art of alebrije making with. Creating alebrijes is then, not just an art rather a calling from the spiritual realm to transform endings into new beginnings.
¡Hola mi nombre es Irma Rodríguez! Desde que tengo memoria he estado pintando y creando alebrijes. Cuando era una niña en Oaxaca, México, hacía largos viajes con mi familia para vender alebrijes en el mercado. Crecí con un sincero amor y pasión por los colores, el diseño y la belleza del alebrije viendo a mis padres y a mi familia crear sus propias y hermosas obras de arte. Desde que llegué a los EE.UU. mi pasión ha crecido cuando lancé mi negocio Alebrijes Rodríguez a tiempo completo para sanar de la depresión de trabajar en un empleo que no satisfacía mi espíritu creativo. Ahora soy una orgullosa madre de dos niños con los que tengo la alegría de enseñar el arte de hacer alebrijes. La creación de alebrijes no es sólo un arte, sino una llamada del reino espiritual para transformar los finales en nuevos comienzos.
